Third municipality in FBiH without local government: Will Jajce become the new Mostar and Stolac

In Jajce, a majority in the Municipal Council has not yet been formed, which is why the local government cannot function at full capacity.

More than two months after the elections in BiH, local parties cannot agree on who will form the majority in the Jajce Municipal Council. Due to this problem, Jajce could enter 2017 without a budget for this year. It is expected that councilors will adopt a temporary decision on financing, so that salaries for budget users are not delayed. The draft budget of Jajce for 2017 is around 10 million KM.

In the Local Elections on October 2, Edin Hozan (SDA) was re-elected as the mayor of Jajce. This is his second term.
Out of 25 seats in the Municipal Council, 11 seats were won by the coalition of Croatian parties led by HDZ BiH, while nine seats went to SDA. Two seats went to SBB, and one each to SDP, SBiH, and the Coalition for Jajce (HNS BiH and HSP BiH).

SDA and HDZ BiH are coalition partners at both the state and federal levels, but in Jajce they cannot reach an agreement on a coalition, Patria writes.
