Trebinje imam disperses provocateurs who spat on the Islamic Community Council!

Trebinje imam Husein ef. Hodžić last night dispersed a group of youths who were shouting „Serbia“ and spitting on the plaque with the council's inscription in front of the building of the Islamic Community Council and Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Trebinje before the tarawih prayer, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

Ef. Hodžić posted surveillance footage on social media showing him dispersing a group of aggressive youths.

- Exactly one hour before the start of the isha prayer and the first tarawih in the Old Town of Trebinje, I went to a nearby bakery to get fresher bread for suhoor. Returning to my apartment and the council building, I heard the choral shouts of a four-member Chetnik choir: "Serbia, Serbia". The orchestrated and commissioned choral group approached me, I went towards them and we met in front of the council entrance. I, "delighted" by the shouts, joined in loudly and shouted "Serbia, long live Serbia", and one of them grew bold and started spitting directly on my apartment window and the plaque with the council inscription – described ef. Hodžić the incident on his FB profile. But it didn't end there; the surprised provocateurs encountered a swift reaction from the imam.

- Of course, then I again raised my conductor's baton, read my right fist towards this one of the "heroes", and fortunately for him I missed, he wriggled free and ran away, which can be clearly seen in the first recording captured by the council's video cameras. Since they didn't sing well, they then performed a quick running-away act, in which I must admit they achieved an enviable result – wrote ef. Hodžić.

As ef. Hodžić told the Patria agency this morning after the incident, the police arrived only after a second call, but they did not have, as he says, an expert to download the video material from the surveillance cameras.

- At that time, the duty officer was about 50 to 60 meters away. Whether he watched the show or not, I don't know, so I called the police station. The time is recorded on the surveillance video. 11 minutes and 50 seconds the police were late in identifying the four singers who turned into runners – he says.

Ef. Hodžić emphasizes that he is not afraid of any retaliation due to his reaction and dispersing the provocateurs, but says he pities the „commissioners“ who will „have to pay the youths more next time due to the fear they suffered“, reports NAP. Watch the footage HERE.
