Work needed to improve cooperation: Director of Austrian Pension Fund visited FZ PIO

Director of the Austrian Pension Fund Winfried Pingerra visited the Federal Institute for Pension and Disability Insurance, after which the possibility of improving cooperation was considered with the aim of facilitating the exercise of rights of citizens of the two countries as defined by the Agreement on Social Security, reports the news agency Patria.

The FZ PIO stated that the Agreement on Social Security between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria was signed fourteen years ago, and that in practice it has been shown that work needs to be done to eliminate certain shortcomings.

First of all, electronic data exchange between pension insurance funds in Austria and BiH should be introduced, which would lead to security and maximum timeliness in the exchange of data and facts relevant to beneficiaries of the funds in both countries, as well as to insured persons who have spent part of their working life on the territory of Austria or Bosnia and Herzegovina.
