Support sought for adoption of Resolution: In addition to satisfaction for victims, resolution gives a chance for dialogue

(Patria) - The announcement of the adoption of a resolution in the UN General Assembly dedicated to the genocide in Srebrenica is, above all, a civilizational act that pays tribute to the victims of a serious violation of international law, including genocide, it was announced by the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association of Mothers of the Srebrenica Enclave.

They sent an appeal to embassies and consular missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, calling for support for the adoption of the resolution in the UN General Assembly dedicated to the genocide in Srebrenica.

"By adopting the resolution in the UN General Assembly, the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica will receive moral satisfaction and a reminder that the victims are not forgotten. In addition to satisfaction for the victims, the resolution gives a chance for dialogue, provides an opportunity for repentance, and creates preconditions for reconciliation.

For all the above reasons, we call on UN member states to support the resolution and thus open a new chapter for a better and more successful Balkans," the statement reads.
