Urgent Council of Ministers session requested on migrant crisis

(Patria) - The caucus of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on the BiH Council of Ministers to convene an urgent extraordinary session dedicated to the migrant crisis. The statements by some officials from the entity of RS that state bodies cannot be relied upon when it comes to the migrant crisis represent a hypocritical stance, because it is precisely the representatives from the entity of RS who are currently blocking the Council of Ministers and the BiH Parliament, which is unacceptable in this situation. We remind that the BiH Presidency adopted a conclusion instructing the Council of Ministers as the competent body to develop a comprehensive plan for dealing with the migrant crisis, and the Council of Ministers must urgently convene on this topic. The Council of Ministers has full responsibility to adequately respond to the situation on the Turkish-Greek border, which threatens to spill over into the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and endanger the security of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We call on the Council of Ministers to consider and support the measures proposed by the BiH Ministry of Security. We also call on all other levels of government to make their capacities available to the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Security in order to adequately respond to this crisis.
