Travnik miners refuse to leave the pit, demand removal of management

It has been twenty-six hours since thirty-six miners of the third shift at the Abid Lolić Bila mine, near Travnik, have been in the pit. By stopping work and preventing other miners from entering, they are insisting, among other things, on the termination of the contract with the construction company Rudar from Tuzla, and the removal of the technical director, the manager, and the entire Board of Directors, reports the Patria news agency. 

During the night, the miners who remained in the pit set seven demands, the fulfillment of which they seek immediately. Among other things, they demand the signing of permanent employment contracts for, as they say, about a hundred newly hired workers from last year. An indispensable demand is the removal of the management.

Their biggest problem, they say, is the construction company from Tuzla, which has been engaged in work at the mine as an external contractor.

Other miners are also in the mine yard, saying they support the demands of their colleagues. And they are sending a message: they will not leave the pit until all demands are met, FTV reported.
