TRAM LINE TO HRASNICA: Minister Šteta and Mayor Muzur Inspect Works

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta and Mayor of Ilidža Municipality Nermin Muzur inspected the construction works on the tram line from Ilidža to Hrasnica.

This is a historic project for the Municipality of Ilidža, but also for the entire canton, as it is the first expansion of the tram line since 1962.

“This is a huge project for Ilidža, by building the tram line we will improve the quality of life in our municipality, we will make everyday life easier for everyone. We all know how many years there was only talk about the line to Hrasnica, I am proud to be part of this project. This project is an example of how much can be achieved through joint work,” emphasized Mayor Muzur.

Various types of works are being carried out along the entire route of the future tram line, from drainage works on the section from Ilidža to the roundabout in Butmir, installation of geotextile and the first tamping layer from Sokolović Kolonija to the roundabout in Hrasnica, to preparations for excavation of earth material from the roundabout in Hrasnica to Famos.

Through the joint work of all involved parties, the project that was only talked about for decades will be completed next year.

“I am satisfied with the dynamics of the works on the line to Hrasnica. On every project, including this one, we face challenges, but we manage to solve them. We are committed to the development of every part of the canton and investment in infrastructure, and that has been evident for years. The tram line to Hrasnica was only a subject of talk and promises for decades, I am glad that we are in a position to say that next year new trams will run to Hrasnica,” emphasized Minister Šteta.
