Adel Šehić (27), Alem Dedić and Arif Alibašić (28), and Edin Herić lost their lives last night at the Dubrave surface mine when, after a strong earthquake that hit the area, earth collapsed on them, reports the Patria news agency.
They were illegally mining coal at this site.
Rescuers have so far recovered only the body of Edin Herić. Given that a huge amount of earth collapsed on the unfortunate young men, it is questionable whether the bodies of the remaining three will be recovered by the end of the day. Between 4,000 and 5,000 cubic metres of earth collapsed on them.
