Tragedy in Istrian camp: Italian bled to death before his wife and daughter

A 44-year-old tourist from Italy died yesterday in the Mon Perin camp in Bale, Istria. Aleks Unussich died after the toilet door in the camp exploded. He bled to death in front of his wife, writes Glas Istre, reports the Patria News Agency.

Unussich took his two-year-old daughter to the toilet, while his wife waited in the caravan. For reasons yet to be determined, the toilet door exploded, and fragments of shattered glass embedded themselves in the unfortunate Italian, including one that allegedly fatally struck his jugular vein.

 

This was the fatal blow. After the explosion, the 44-year-old walked about 15 meters to his wife for help, leaving a trail of blood behind him. He died there before the eyes of his wife and daughter.

The little girl was not injured. It is assumed that her father protected her with his own body. 

According to unofficial information from the camp, the Italian was in front of the toilet at the time of the accident and did not touch the glass door. The camp claims that the doors are always open and that they are only closed and locked when the camp is not operational. More about the tragedy will be known after the ongoing investigation.
