Traditional parade: Scouts carried the war flag of the 105th Brigade to Grdonj

As part of the event marking the 24th anniversary of the formation of the 105th Motorized Brigade, a parade of scouts from Sarajevo Canton and the ceremonial handover of the war flag of the 105th Brigade took place today on the KSC Skenderija plateau. The event was attended by representatives of veterans' associations, surviving members of this brigade, and the Municipality of Centar, reports Patria.

Approximately 50 young people from scout troops from Sarajevo Canton, the First Bosniak Gymnasium, Rakovica, and Vrelo Bosne attended the parade. After the ceremonial parade, scout Benjamin Soko, a member of the Sarajevo Canton Scout Troop, received the brigade's war flag from Asim Smajlović Sika, a wartime company commander from Blekin potok, who, as a former member of the 105th Motorized Brigade, stated that he had the honor and pleasure today to address the generations who hold the future of this country.

– In schools, you are taught a different history that is not true. We who survived from the 105th mtbr and other brigades are witnesses to historical events. Our honorable and just country was attacked by aggressors from Serbia and Croatia, where some were called Chetniks and others Ustashas, and you do not have this information in your books.

The historical and accurate fact is that Bosnia and Herzegovina survived within its AVNOJ borders, thanks to these people who are here today before you and who were members of the Army of RBiH, and especially because of the 317 members of this brigade who gave their lives for our freedom and whose names are engraved on the memorial Mala kula on Grdonj. The aggressors did not succeed in their intentions, and therefore I can say that the defenders of this country are the victors of the past war. Every inch of this land is soaked with the blood of our brave fighters whose names our schools and streets bear, Smajlović told the assembled scouts.

The scouts carried the war flag along the glorious paths of the 105th Motorized Brigade, across Špicasta stijena to Grdonj, where the central event of the anniversary of the formation of the 105th Motorized Brigade was held at noon at the Mala kula memorial.
