Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Winner of the first stage is Hungarian Marko Toth, best BiH competitor Vedad Karić

(Patria) - The winner of the first stage of the "Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina" cycling race is Hungarian Marko Toth.

The first stage of this race was held from Sarajevo to Mostar, a distance of 139.1 kilometers, and the most successful was the cyclist from the Hungarian team Team United Shipping, 20-year-old Marko Toth, who completed the course in 2 hours, 42 minutes, and 24 seconds, with an average speed of 51.5 km/h.

Second place went to Romanian Sander Inion (Madar Pro Cycling Team), and third to Pole Piotr Maslak (Voster Team).

Barnabas Vas, a participant from the Hungarian team, received the award for the best climber.

The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian competitor was Vedad Karić, who finished in 55th place.

Due to the "Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina" International Cycling Race, traffic will be temporarily suspended in stages next weekend (April 17-19, 2026):

On April 17th on the Sarajevo-Mostar section

The race starts at 11 AM in front of SCC on Maršala Tita Street. According to the organizers, traffic will be suspended starting at 10 AM. The caravan will travel along the M-17 main road (Ilidža-Hadžići-Konjic-Jablanica-Mostar). The estimated arrival in Mostar is around 1:45 PM. After the race caravan passes through each of the mentioned locations, the road will be opened and traffic will return to normal. In Mostar, there will be 3 laps driven on Kralja Tomislava Street (Avenija) from the roundabout in Zalik to the intersection with Nadbiskupa Čule and Kralja Petra Krešimira Streets (Spajalica building/old Velež stadium). The fastest cyclist is expected to cross the finish line at 2:20 PM, after which traffic will return to normal. Kralja Tomislava Street (in front of the Economic and Tenth Elementary Schools), as well as Stjepana Radića Street (from Projektant to Zrinjski stadium), will remain blocked for the award ceremony. The official end of the first day is scheduled for 4:30 PM.

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the second stage of the 'Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina' race will be held. Traffic will be temporarily suspended in stages from 12 PM to 3 PM on the Mostar-Čapljina-Ljubuški route. The race starts on the second day at 12 PM in front of Kosača (Mostar), and traffic will be suspended on the following streets: Liska, Bulevar, Lučki most, Maršala Tita, towards the southern camp and further towards Čapljina. Traffic will be suspended on the Mostar-Čapljina main road until 1 PM, when the caravan enters Čapljina. The caravan is expected to arrive in Ljubuški at 1:20 PM. Traffic will be completely blocked on the M-6 main road (Ante Starčevića Street) from 12:50 PM. The race is scheduled to pass through Ljubuški until 12:55 PM, after which traffic will return to normal. The caravan is expected to arrive in Drinovci at 1:55 PM. Traffic will be completely blocked from 12:25 PM. The race is scheduled to pass through Drinovci until 2 PM, after which traffic will return to normal. The caravan is expected to arrive in Grude at 2:20 PM. Traffic will be completely blocked from 1:50 PM. The race is scheduled to pass through Grude until 2:30 PM, after which traffic will return to normal. The finish line on the second day is in Ljubuški, and the fastest cyclist is expected to cross the finish line at 3 PM, after which traffic will return to normal. Zrinskofrankopanska Street in Ljubuški (in front of the municipal building) will remain blocked for the award ceremony, and the official end of the second day is scheduled for 5 PM.

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the final stage of the race will be held, covering the route Ljubuški-Stolac-Neum. The race starts at 12 PM in front of the municipal building in Ljubuški, at which time traffic will be completely blocked on Zrinskofrakopanska Street and on the M-6 main road (Ante Starčevića Street). The caravan will pass through Vitina at 12:10 PM, and then head towards Grabo and further to Bijača. Cyclists are expected to pass through Stolac around 1:30 PM, and traffic will be completely blocked from 1 PM. Complete traffic suspension is expected on the Stolac-Neum main road between 1 PM and 2 PM. The caravan is scheduled to enter Neum around 2:40 PM. The fastest cyclist is expected to cross the finish line at 3 PM, after which traffic will return to normal.
