Around twenty people were mostly lightly injured in a tornado with heavy rains on Saturday in Florence, and train traffic towards Rome was interrupted overnight due to the storm, media reported.
Among the injured is a young man, a 19-year-old, who was hit on the head by a branch. The wind also uprooted a railway pole near Florence. City authorities called on the population on Saturday not to go out into the flooded streets. The situation in Florence calmed down on Sunday.
