HEAT WAVE Red warning - take precautionary measures

(Patria) - Due to high daytime temperatures in Herzegovina and across Bosnia, a red warning is in effect.

In the Mostar region, daytime temperatures are expected around 42 degrees Celsius, while in the Višegrad region, maximum air temperatures will range between 37 and 42 degrees, and in mountainous areas around 30 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, in the Foča region, maximum air temperatures are forecast between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius, and in mountainous areas up to 30 degrees Celsius.

In the Tuzla region, maximum temperatures are expected around 38 degrees Celsius, in the Trebinje region maximum air temperatures will range between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius, in the Sarajevo region around 37 degrees Celsius, and in the Livno region around 35 degrees Celsius.

"Take precautionary measures. Expect disruptions to daily routines and be prepared to suspend outdoor activities. Be prepared for high temperatures that will pose health risks among vulnerable people, such as the elderly and very young. Listen to and act on advice from authorities. Listen to and act in accordance with the advice of authorized bodies," stated the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the Prijedor region, maximum air temperatures are forecast between 37 and 41 degrees Celsius, and in the Banja Luka region between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius, with local showers and thunderstorms expected.

"Be aware that thunderstorms may occur. Be especially careful in exposed areas such as mountains, forests, and open terrain. Disruptions to outdoor activities are possible," stated the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
