Warmer shades of gray in your home: 'Poised Taupe' is the color of the year for 2017.

The well-known American company Sherwin-Williams, which sets trends in interior design, opted for "Alabaster" last year. For 2017, these trendsetters are proposing the so-called "poised taupe", which in free translation means "graceful gray-brown". A color that is neither warm, nor cold, nor dark, nor light, but somewhere in between.

Sherwin-Williams explains that the shade is a modern approach to the timeless classic of gray:

- It signals a new direction in the growing need for beautiful neutral colors that combine warm and cool tones to create an irresistible and adaptable color. Neutral colors are changing. For five years, everyone has been talking about gray. Now we are warming it up.

If you apply it in a hallway with wooden floors and frame it with white, it will look traditional and inviting. However, accent with accessories in warm colors, e.g. orange, so that the space does not look sterile and boring.

If you want to try the color in the bedroom, stick to light floors and bedding/bedspreads so that the room does not look like a dark cave.

In the kitchen, this brown-gray color will go well with most common color schemes (so you don't have to invest in new dishes). Rustic yellow and algae green go perfectly with gray walls.
