Toplane Sarajevo: For heating to be turned on during overhaul period, an order from the Canton Sarajevo Government is required

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - For the sake of transparent and complete information for our users, citizens of Sarajevo Canton, we wish to point out once again that according to the Cantonal Ordinance on general conditions for the production, delivery and use of thermal energy, the heating season ended on 17.05.2020, announced KJKP Toplane Sarajevo. 

According to the plant overhaul plan that has been implemented for many years, we have started the overhaul of boiler houses according to a predetermined schedule. We are in constant communication with the competent authorities from
the first day of the temperature drop, and below we inform you about the latest letter sent to them:

„We inform you that within 24 hours from the moment the order is issued, all plants can be started at minimum capacity sufficient for such outside temperatures and to heat all
residential units in the system. We note that we are in the overhaul phase and by closing the boilers subject to inspection and starting them, we are committing an offense and creating a risk in case of an accident, and we are not acting in accordance with the Ordinance on general conditions for the production, delivery and use of thermal energy (Official Gazette of Sarajevo Canton, No. 22/16). To start the plants in this case, an order from the Government of Sarajevo Canton is required“.

Also, it is important to emphasize that through the bills for the month of May, users will be charged only the amounts for connection power (fixed costs without the energy portion of the amount), for users who pay a flat rate, which means that it will be significantly lower than the amount charged in the months during the heating season.
