Toplane Sarajevo switching to alternative fuel, Energoinvest introduces gas reductions

Sarajevo, (Patria) - Toplane Sarajevo informs users of central heating that in the coming days they are forced to partially heat using alternative fuel due to natural gas reductions in the Sarajevo Canton.

Namely, we have been informed by KJKP "Sarajevogas" d.o.o. that "Energoinvest" d.d. has limited the supply of natural gas to them, and that KJKP "Toplane – Sarajevo" must reduce its natural gas consumption to 300,000 Sm 3. Since KJKP "Toplane – Sarajevo" uses natural gas as the primary fuel for heat energy production, and as "Energoinvest" d.d., the main natural gas supplier, has not procured sufficient quantities of gas and has reduced its supply, KJKP "Toplane – Sarajevo" is currently (January 12, 2022) heating part of its boiler plants using alternative fuel, so that our users have a continuous supply of heat energy.

Considering the weather forecast which predicts a significant drop in temperature in the coming days, and due to the limited volume of natural gas supply resulting from "Energoinvest" d.d.'s problems in securing sufficient quantities of it, KJKP "Toplane – Sarajevo" informs its users that all boiler plants are currently operational with a stable operating regime.

Given that certain quantities of alternative fuel were consumed last season, and considering the fact that at low temperatures, heating with alternative fuel can only be maintained for 1-2 days, we expect "Energoinvest" d.d., in cooperation with the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, to secure sufficient quantities of gas to overcome the current situation.
