Sarajevo District Heating procures additional quantities of alternative fuels

Due to reduced delivery of natural gas as the primary energy source for heat production, KJKP „Toplane - Sarajevo“ d.o.o., in order to maintain the district heating and gas system of the Sarajevo Canton, has been using heavy fuel oil and heating oil as alternative fuel in part of its boiler plants since January 23, 2015, announced the District Heating company, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- Given that Sarajevo District Heating did not have enough heavy fuel oil and heating oil to maintain the heating function, and bearing in mind that for eight days most of our plants have been operating on heavy fuel oil and heating oil, Sarajevo District Heating has proceeded with the procurement of new additional quantities of alternative fuel, in order to ensure the regular delivery of heat energy to all our service users for the duration of the current scope of natural gas reduction towards Sarajevo District Heating.

Due to the seriousness of the situation, we once again ask all central heating users who have debts towards KJKP „Toplane - Sarajevo“ d.o.o. to settle them and thereby contribute to the stabilization of the entire system.

KJKP „Toplane-Sarajevo“ d.o.o. extends its apologies to central heating service users and our regular payers for the possible weaker heating intensity and possible short-term interruptions in the delivery of heat energy that may occur during fuel reception for safety reasons.
