"District Heating" has only a few days of alternative fuel!

The Cantonal Public Utility Company District Heating Sarajevo (KJKP) has started using alternative fuel due to reduced gas supply, at 65 percent of production capacity, confirmed for Patria Ženja Ljubuškić, spokesperson of "District Heating".

- Due to the reduced supply of natural gas as an energy source for heat production, and also due to increased gas consumption because of low temperatures, KJKP District Heating Sarajevo, in order to maintain the entire system, has started using alternative fuel, i.e. mazut and heating oil, at 65 percent of production capacity - says Ljubuškić.

As Patria learns, due to this problem, an urgent meeting is underway between representatives of BH Gas, District Heating, Sarajevogas and the relevant minister Zlatko Petrović.

What is additionally concerning is the fact that District Heating has alternative fuel for only a few days.

- We have started using alternative fuels. There is enough for a few days, but we expect the situation to stabilize. Otherwise, we will proceed with new procurements of alternative fuels, i.e. heating oil and mazut - added Ljubuškić.

From BH-Gas, it was announced yesterday that the limited gas supply from the Russian Federation is not in accordance with the Gas Supply Agreement between Energoinvest d.d. Sarajevo and Gazprom Export.
