Commenting on the candidacy of Dr. Mustafa Cerić for the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, director of HKD Napredak Franjo Topić said that it is his right, like that of any citizen.
- What is surprising to us is that he was a religious leader, and that confuses people a bit, but in Islam, it is not forbidden for religious officials to engage in politics - said Topić, and pointed out that there are similar examples, but that only the Catholic Church prohibits it.
He said that Cerić's candidacy should not represent anything negative because he is acting as an individual.
- If he were the reis, then it would be incompatible, but like this, as a free citizen, he has the right to run - Topić told NAP.
