Tomić: Sarajevo police officers were killed by a man who pathologically hated Bosniaks

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Lawyer Duško Tomić, the defense attorney for Aleksandar Macan, the main suspect in the investigation of the murder of Sarajevo police officers, who surrendered on Friday, told Klix.ba that Macan stated in the BiH Prosecutor's Office that Savo Marinković shot the police officers in the head.

As Macan's defense attorney, who, according to Tomić, has given him full trust, he revealed several details related to the statement his client gave to the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

"Macan went to steal deliberately. Even if he had been caught, it would have been six months in prison. Why would he commit a double murder? There is no doubt that Marinković shot. Macan swears he did not know Marinković was carrying a weapon," Tomić emphasized.

He added that the very manner in which the murders were committed indicates that the perpetrator was indeed Marinković.

"Savo was a biathlete, a Balkan champion, that's why he was so precise and hit the driver police officer directly in the head through the windshield. After that, he hit the second police officer, who was the co-driver, in the temple," Tomić stated.

Finally, he also said that he has certain information about what could have been the motive for this terrible crime.

"Marinković was a very violent person. Besides, it is known that he pathologically hated Bosniaks. Also, the police officers did not happen to come across them stealing cars by chance; someone called them by phone and sent them there. It is also known from which number. The motive was to destabilize the country," Tomić concluded.
