Tuzla Canton has a budget surplus of 12.8 million KM: A unique result for cantons

(Patria) - The Government of Tuzla Canton today adopted the report on the execution of the TK budget for 2025, as well as the report on the expenditure of budget current reserve funds for last year.

The report shows that, considering the total realized revenues and receipts of the budget for the mentioned period of 698,288,703.40 KM, compared to the expenditures and disbursements in the amount of 685,492,813.84 KM, the budget in 2025 achieved a total positive financial result in the amount of 12,795,889.56 KM.

- At the end of 2019, the accumulated deficit was 25 million KM, and in 2021, they moved from a deficit phase to an accumulated surplus. The latest report indicates that at the end of 2025, we have an accumulated surplus of 12.8 million KM - says the Minister of Finance of TK Suad Mustajbašić.

Such a financial result, Mustajbašić emphasized, is a rarity in Bosnia and Herzegovina when it comes to cantons, but also entities.

With numerous investment projects launched last year, with a total value of approximately 30 million KM, it can be concluded that the achieved result is a consequence of increased revenue collection and receipts, but also controlled expenditure of funds through the approval of quarterly operational budgets.

- The most significant tax revenues of the Canton are indirect taxes (VAT), income tax, and profit tax, with a share of 91.08 percent in the total collected revenues of the TK budget for 2025. Their increase by 10.33 percent compared to the previous year is evident - states the Government of TK.

Regarding the report on the realization of funds from the current reserve position, the Government of TK points out that out of the planned one million KM, 513,414.26 KM was realized during 2025, reports Fakor.ba

- These funds were predominantly spent on supporting the preservation of jobs in business entities that suffered significant damage due to natural disasters, supporting representative selections of Bosnia and Herzegovina, supporting sports clubs for organizing or participating in certain competitions, and emergency interventions in school facilities in TK - it is stated in the announcement after today's session.
