Tineke Strik at the BiH Presidency: Further progress of BiH and integration into the EU supported

(Patria) - Member of the European Parliament from the Greens/European Free Alliance group, Tineke Strik, visited the BiH Presidency.

She was received by the Chairperson Denis Bećirović, and on behalf of BiH Presidency members Željka Cvijanović and Željko Komšić, advisors Marko Milisav and Slaven Kovačević attended the meeting.

A welcome was extended to Member of the European Parliament Tineke Strik, along with gratitude for her interest, support, and assistance to BiH on its European path, especially for her personal commitment to achieving democratic development and prosperity for BiH on the EU path.

The importance of the messages received by BiH, concerning respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the BiH Constitution, was also highlighted.

Further steps in BiH's negotiation process with the EU were discussed, following BiH's opening of accession negotiations with the EU. The expectation was expressed that the European Commission would proceed with the preparation of the screening, which forms the basis for the negotiation framework, all with the aim of holding the first intergovernmental conference as soon as possible.

As stated, the decision of the European Council is the result of certain progress that BiH has achieved in fulfilling the conditions on its reform path towards the EU.

Member of the European Parliament Tineke Strik supported the further progress of BiH and its integration into the EU, emphasizing that BiH has been given an opportunity to join the family of European countries.
