FUCZ teams continue search for Anto Josić

(Patria) - Water and underwater rescue teams of the FUCZ have continued the search for Anto Josić, who was last seen on Saturday afternoon, December 21st last year, when he left his family home in an unknown direction. 

Since December 23, 2019, the FUCZ was involved for three days in an extensive search for Josić, and prior to that, his family, locals and hunters searched but without success.

According to information gathered from family members and indications that the missing Josić moved along the bank of the Sava River, it is assumed that he fell into the water and drowned, so the search, which was temporarily suspended due to rising water levels and the speed of the Sava River in this area and the inability to engage underwater search and rescue teams (divers), resumed this morning.

The search is concentrated on several locations on the Sava River in the municipality of Domaljevac-Šamac, where three water rescue teams with boats, an underwater rescue team with eight divers and a team with sonar will search. The search for the missing Josić (67) has so far involved 35 FUCZ members trained for search and rescue, three search dogs with handlers, a team with unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), one of which has a thermal camera, and a water rescue team (divers) with boats and necessary equipment, members of the hunting association "Kuna", the fishing association "Zlatni Karas" from Domaljevac, locals and the missing person's family.
