Tihić to be buried in his native Bosanski Šamac

Bakir Izetbegović, Deputy President of the SDA, stated at an extraordinary press conference held this evening at the SDA Headquarters that the party's President, Sulejman Tihić, will be buried in the courtyard of the mosque in Bosanski Šamac, as was his wish, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Tihić passed away this evening at the University Clinical Center (UKCS) at the age of 63. It was confirmed by UKCS that he died at 19:20.

- The death of President Tihić is a great loss for the SDA, for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all its citizens. Sulejman Tihić was a good man, an exemplary father, husband, a very responsible politician. President Tihić made an immeasurable contribution to the processes of reintegration of BiH, processes of trust and rebuilding trust among peoples and citizens, as well as to the work of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will remember Sulejman Tihić for his courage, pride, and dignity with which he faced both his illness and the difficult issues of BiH's political reality - said Izetbegović.

The SDA has extended its sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends, members, and sympathizers of the party.

At an extraordinary session of the SDA Presidency Collegium, held on the occasion of Tihić's death, a committee for his funeral was formed. The exact date, place, and time of the memorial sessions will be announced later.
