TI presents report on the impact of COVID on access to information

SARAJevo, (Patria) - On the occasion of the International Day for Universal Access to Information, Transparency International in BiH (TI BiH) is organizing a press conference where it will present the results of research on the transparency of public institutions and public enterprises, as well as an assessment of the impact of COVID-19 on access to information of public importance.

During 2020, TI BiH conducted research on the availability of public information in public enterprises and public institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Public enterprises in BiH were the target group of the research on several occasions, so this year the results were compared with those from previous years in order to conclude whether progress has been made in the application of the Law on Freedom of Access to Information.

At the conference, TI BiH will also present recommendations for improving the legislative framework in the area of access to information, as well as cases where examples of non-transparency have been recorded in the circumstances of the epidemic.
