TI BiH requests from RS MUP the findings of the expert analysis of Željka Cvijanović's recording about buying MPs

Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina has sent a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska to submit the findings of the expert analysis and information on who conducted the analysis based on which it was determined that the recording that leaked to the public, in which RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović allegedly speaks about buying MPs in the RS National Assembly, was fabricated, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- The public has the right to full insight into the findings of the expert analysis, as well as the actions taken to determine whether the recording is authentic, bearing in mind that at the constitutive session of the RS National Assembly, it turned out that two MPs had changed their political affiliations, as was announced in the recording itself. Because the allegations from the recording were practically confirmed during the formation of the majority in the RS National Assembly, doubt has been cast on the credibility of the RS MUP's findings, which is why it is necessary to make all information related to this case available - states the TI BiH press release.

The RS MUP has a responsibility towards the citizens of RS to provide information and findings of the expert analysis, also due to the seriousness of the allegations made in the recording itself, as they indicate possible corruption at the highest level of government and could have far-reaching consequences, rendering the entire concept of democracy meaningless.

TI BiH therefore hopes that the RS MUP will act in accordance with the Law on Freedom of Access to Information and remove doubts about the method of determining the authenticity of the recording, and prevent the complete erosion of trust in institutions and holders of power in RS.
