The Guardian: Citizens Fed Up with Corruption Demand Truth About Young Man's Death

LONDON, (Patria) - The reputable London-based The Guardian reminded in its today's edition of the space and protests by citizens in Banja Luka, who are seeking truth and justice for the murdered young man David Dragičević.

The Guardian writes that citizens at the protests, in addition to the truth about the young man's murder, are also demanding the resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the RS entity, Dragan Lukač. According to the British newspaper, thousands of gathered citizens hold Lukač responsible for covering up the truth about David Dragičević's murder.

"For nine months since David Dragičević was found dead in a stream in Banja Luka, six days after he disappeared, his father Davor Dragičević has protested every day in the city square demanding the truth. His struggle has evolved into a larger movement of citizens fed up with corruption and what they call a weak rule of law in Bosnia. Smaller protests of solidarity and support were held last week in Croatia and Serbia," the text of The Guardian states.

The newspaper also writes that after several hours of protests in the city center, citizens managed to prevent a concert by the popular singer Haris Džinović.

"The street will not make political decisions in Republika Srpska," The Guardian quotes the statement of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik.

The Guardian also states that some opposition politicians joined the citizens in the street, but as citizens, not in their official capacity.
