Severely injured train driver Haris Karić loses battle for life

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Train driver Haris Karić, who was severely injured in a collision between two freight trains in Donja Jablanica, died this morning.

- With pain and sorrow we inform colleagues and friends that our colleague Haris Karić has lost the battle for life - announced the Union of Train Drivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We recall that the serious accident occurred ten days ago in the town of Donja Jablanica, when two freight trains collided.

In the accident, two train drivers, Jasmin Čerenić and Fehmin Turčinović, lost their lives, while Haris Karić was severely injured. The fourth train driver, Božidar Jurenić, managed to jump out of the locomotive at the last moment and save himself.

Severely injured driver Karić was transferred after the accident to the hospital in Mostar, and a day later he was moved to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo.

Unfortunately, Karić lost the battle for life.
