Harsh words between Bogunić and Konaković

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Resigning Minister of Education Zinaida Bogunić, during her address to the deputies in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, leveled a series of accusations against the Speaker of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Elmedin Konaković, as well as the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Edin Forto, and stated a number of reasons that led her to resign. 

She told the deputies and the public that it is no secret that she resigned due to disagreements with Elmedin Konaković and pressure to do things she did not agree with. She stated that Konaković insisted that the Ministry of Education purchase the online platform Osnovna.ba for KM 500,000, but that she did not do it. She emphasized that Konaković asked Bogunić to appoint the founder of the university from Novi Pazar, owned by Muamer Zukorlić, as her advisor. She also emphasized that she did not do that either.

Regarding the amendments to the Law on Higher Education of Sarajevo Canton, Bogunić pointed out that there were disagreements with Konaković on this matter as well. 

"Konaković personally asked me to forward the Law on Higher Education to the session of the Sarajevo Canton Government. An urgent procedure was requested, and the ministry had not even seriously considered it. Otherwise, all activities related to the Law on Higher Education of Sarajevo Canton were carried out institutionally. I did not agree to that. A day later, Forto told me: 'Dino said either you submit it to the government or you fly out,'" said Bogunić.

Konaković also responded to these accusations, stating that he is ready for a polygraph test, and even court if necessary.

„Shame on you, Minister Bogunić. I am not a stupid person to say 'give them a job,' and for a job worth 500,000 convertible marks," Konaković said.

He also responded to the accusations that he had requested amendments to the Law on Higher Education of Sarajevo Canton. 

"You spoke correctly when you said you would fly out. I told you to let the law go after four and a half months of waiting, to correct the situation at the Faculty of Medicine. You told me that it was necessary and that it would be done. You withdrew that material after you returned from your annual leave. I exerted pressure and I will continue to exert pressure on everyone next. Average professors teach at the Faculty of Medicine, and you are an accomplice in that process," said the Speaker of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
