Difficult situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina also hit powerful Coca-Cola!

The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is buzzing with a story that the company „Coca-Cola“ HBC B-H d.o.o. is in an extremely difficult situation, and that they are even considering shutting down this branch or moving the company to another country, writes the news agency Patria.

However, from this company, in a statement to Patria, they did not elaborate on the problems they are facing. It is reportedly that turnover has dropped enormously, so layoffs are also being prepared, and from this company they do not hide that the difficult macroeconomic environment has affected them as well.

Alma Šahbaz, head of communications and community relations at „Coca-Cola“ Sarajevo, says that this is the second largest system of bottling plants of Coca-Cola products in the world, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange and included in the DJSI and FTSE4Good sustainability indices.

- Coca-Cola Sarajevo regularly settles its legal obligations. Our company is the market leader in non-alcoholic beverages in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the largest generators of VAT in the country. As with all companies operating on the BiH market, the impact of the unfavorable macroeconomic environment is also reflected in our business – said Šahbaz.

She further stated that through continuous improvement of the efficiency of its business processes, „Coca-Cola“ HBC B-H d.o.o. Sarajevo is finding a way to overcome these impacts, maintain stable and successful operations, and contribute to the economy of our country.

- We believe that, as soon as macroeconomic conditions allow, we will contribute to the development of the market and in the long term be a significant factor in the development of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economy and community – added Šahbaz.

Incidentally, Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina today employs 330 people, who are in fear of possible layoffs.
