TENDER IN PROGRESS Card payment for bills suspended at Toplane-Sarajevo customer centres, bring cash only!

(Patria) - The company Toplane-Sarajevo has suspended card payments for heating bills at its customer centres, as a tender for the most favourable bidder for payment via POS terminals is underway.

Citizens who wished to pay their heating bills by card were unable to do so, and were instead asked to pay in cash.

"Card payment is currently suspended in all our customer centres on Envera Šehovića Street, Alipašino Polje, Dobrinja, and the Zetra payment point, given that public procurement activities are underway to select the most favourable bidder for the procurement of 'Acceptance of payments via POS terminals' (e-Procurement (ejn.gov.ba)), in accordance with the Law on Public Procurement, which we are obliged to implement under the said law," they stated in a response from Toplane.

Given that it is the 21st century, card payments should be a given, especially when it comes to a public company whose services are used by more than 53,000 customers.

Heating bills can be paid online, but a large number of citizens, especially the elderly, do not have access to this service.
