Prim. dr. Nerimana Ramadanović, a family medicine specialist and subspecialist nutritionist at the Sarajevo Canton Health Center, warns that citizens should consume as much fluid as possible during the sudden temperature fluctuations that have affected Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent days, avoid fatty and fried foods, and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
The number of patients complaining of high blood pressure and other health problems has increased in recent days, leading to an increased number of medical interventions, all due to sudden weather fluctuations in recent months.
It will be particularly dangerous tomorrow, when experts have issued a orange weather alert for Bosnia and Herzegovina, announcing dangerous weather with temperatures up to 38 degrees, with even possible human casualties, writes NAP.
Dr. Nerimana Ramadanović told the Patria agency that citizens should avoid fatty, battered, and fried foods during the summer months, especially during hot days like those expected in BiH tomorrow, and consume fruits and vegetables. She recommends drinking plenty of fluids, especially lukewarm soups. It is also very important to pay attention to how food is prepared.
- One should strictly avoid refreezing food that has already been thawed, especially chicken and minced meat. I advise citizens to wash their hands more often. This way, it is possible to reduce the possibility of health complications, said Dr. Ramadanović for NAP.
