Tegeltija withdraws Božović's appointment

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The appointment of Mlađen Božović as Minister of Human Rights in the Council of Ministers of BiH has been officially removed from the agenda of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. This proposal was withdrawn by the proposer, Zoran Tegeltija, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, at the request of the SDA Club.

Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, confirmed that the agenda item regarding the appointment of Mlađen Božović (DNS) as Minister of Human Rights and Refugees was postponed yesterday.

This was decided after a meeting of the expanded Collegium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

"The issue is complex and requires further consultations between the parties. Party consensus should be allowed. Everyone agreed to postpone this item," said Zvizdić, noting that the meeting between SDA and SNSD was not sufficient for consensus.

Tegeltija withdrew the item to keep Božović in the running for minister. If a vote had been held today, Božović would no longer be eligible. Further consultations between SDA and SNSD are expected regarding this appointment.
