Tegeltija: You cannot expect a person with a difficult life to believe in the judiciary

SARAJEVO, (Patria) -  As far as I know, that story is not over yet. What I can say is that I have already said everything I had to say on the subject. That proceeding is at the state Prosecutor's Office, I am a witness there and I cannot say more," said the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) Milan Tegeltija for N1 Television, adding that he was at the "center of a fabricated affair."

"I was at the center of a fabricated affair, I know it was fabricated and I am a witness in that process, not a suspect. It was not pleasant, it was not easy to bear, but I must do my job as best I can. I will not recycle that garbage of a story in the media again," said Tegeltija.

He emphasized that he has never been involved in corruption.

"I still talk to people, that is something you cannot avoid, especially in this job. I have never been involved in corruption in my life, so I will not talk about it. I have never been involved and I never will be."

Asked about the relationship with the international community and their reactions after the outbreak of the "Potkivanje" affair, Tegeltija said that "it is a broad concept." 

"Everyone has the right to have an opinion, including our international partners. There is no difference in cooperation with our partners from the international community," said Tegeltija.

Speaking about citizens' trust in the judiciary, the President of the HJPC Milan Tegeltija stated that "people do not trust the judiciary in much more developed systems than BiH." 

"The judiciary bears the burden of all society's problems, because it is part of society. It can send signals that it is a better part of some society, but you cannot expect a person with a difficult life to believe in anything in terms of perception," said Tegeltija.
