Tegeltija: If the price of EU is the death of Republika Srpska, no thanks!

(Patria) - The president of FK Borac and former president of the VSTV, who until recently also served as an advisor to Milorad Dodik, Milan Tegeltija commented today on the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was filed by Slaven Kovačević.

In his comment, Tegeltija directly addressed Kovačević, during which he made numerous controversial claims.

"Slaven Kovačević, advisor to Željko Komšić, the people in BiH should thank him for obtaining through his appeal a ruling from the Court in Strasbourg, due to which BiH will very likely never enter the EU, because that ruling will never be implemented in BiH. If the price of EU is the death of Republika Srpska, no thanks," Tegeltija stated.

We remind you that the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, upon the appeal of Slaven Kovačević, issued a ruling establishing that his rights in the context of voting for candidates for the state House of Peoples and the Presidency of BiH were violated because he was unable to vote for candidates who do not belong to the constituent peoples and do not live in a specific entity.

Kovačević, who is an advisor to the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić, complained to the Court because during the 2022 General Elections he could not vote for candidates for the Presidency of BiH and indirectly for the House of Peoples of BiH, who best represent his political views, because they are not members of the three constituent peoples nor do they live in the "right" entity.

Kovačević complained that due to a combination of territorial and ethnic conditions, he could not vote for candidates he believed would best protect his interests.
