Tabaković: CEC threatens, we have submitted an appeal to the Constitutional Court

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Leaders of several political parties based in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina arrived in Srebrenica in the afternoon hours for a meeting with representatives of the Initiative "My Address Srebrenica", and as Alija Tabaković, candidate for mayor of Srebrenica, said after the meeting, the Initiative received support for the election boycott.

He also spoke about threats from the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tabaković emphasized that the Initiative today also submitted an appeal to the Constitutional Court "regarding the temporary measure".

"We received maximum support from all participants of this gathering. Let me inform you that we submitted an application to the Constitutional Court today and that the Constitutional Court urgently responds regarding our temporary measure. We received support in the democratic struggle for our people in Srebrenica. The elections are unfair for us, due to voters from the diaspora, and it is impossible to hold elections. Based on those previous elections, this Initiative received support from 90 percent of the electorate. We will fight for every one of our individuals, discrimination in Srebrenica has been present for a long time," Tabaković stated.

He then added that they will fight for their rights using all democratic means.

"We will fight with all democratic means, and especially we will fight for the rights of our returnees. This is a difficult and painful decision, but at the same time we are aware that we can no longer endure in this way. We informed the Municipal Election Commission. Unfortunately, we received information that people from the CEC are calling and threatening members of our municipal board," he said.

The meeting in Srebrenica was attended by, we recall, President of the Democratic Front Željko Komšić, President of the SDP Nermin Nikšić, President of the People and Justice Party Elmedin Konaković, President of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina Amer Jerlagić, and President of the PDA Mirsad Kukić, as well as Vice President of the Party of Democratic Action Edin Ramić. From Our Party, Secretary General Nihad Uk and political director of the SBB Anis Krivić arrived.

Dissatisfied with the CEC's decision that the elections are not being repeated in full, the Initiative "My Address Srebrenica" and candidates from pro-Bosnian lists decided on Monday to boycott the repeated elections.
