(Patria) – The World Health Organization (WHO) will send a team to China next week to investigate the origin of the new coronavirus, the organization's Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced on Monday.
The United States, among other countries, has called for an investigation, condemning the WHO for bias towards China, which it holds responsible for the pandemic.
President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have repeatedly stated that they believe the virus originated in a laboratory in Wuhan, which China has categorically denied.
