SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Omicron is not the last strain of the coronavirus pandemic, warned a senior official of the World Health Organization (WHO) Maria van Kerkhov today.
"In many countries, such as Great Britain where herd immunity has developed, and in which vaccination coverage is high, you will see a difference in the future. You are in the second phase of the pandemic," Kerkhov told the BBC.
She said that, out of ten billion doses of coronavirus vaccines administered so far, there are still three billion people waiting for their first dose.
"We still have a very vulnerable population. This is a global problem, so we must treat it with global solutions," Kerkhov stated.
