World-renowned artists dedicate song 'Child in Blue' to children with autism

(Patria) - World-renowned producers and musicians Nirvan Pištojlević and Alex Elena, the creative duo from Los Angeles who form the band Life in Cold Blood, have specially written a song and created a video titled “Child in Blue” for the Association “EDUS- Education for All” and for all children with autism.

The music video attempts to bring closer the life of a girl and a boy from the autistic spectrum with a very powerful visual approach. The video was directed by Alen Petković, a multiple Grammy award winner for his work in the film industry, while the mix and master were done by Steve Baughman.

The drawings used in the video are creations of a nine-year-old girl with autism, which were creatively processed and transformed into a story that follows the song about a boy and a girl in blue.

“On this occasion, we also thank Light Film from Zagreb for their immense support and everyone who is daily involved in the struggle to ensure EDUS continues to progress despite everything that repeatedly sets them back,” the EDUS Association announced.

The song had its world premiere on April 2, 2018, on “World Autism Awareness Day” on music services iTunes and Spotify. Each purchase of this song for 0.99 US cents will be donated to programs for working with children on the autistic spectrum conducted by the Association EDUS-Education for All. Composer, producer and artist Nirvan Pištojlević was born in Sarajevo, but developed his musical style in New York and Los Angeles. He has worked on several music projects where the influence of his native Bosnia and Herzegovina is clearly visible.

In this collaboration (Life in Cold Blood), he contributes his vocal abilities as well as his compositional and arranging skills. Nirvan also wrote the lyrics and music for the song Child in Blue. He studied classical guitar but dedicated most of his musical career to composing and producing. His work has been featured in many films and he has collaborated with a large number of artists from various musical genres from his studio in Los Angeles. Alex Elena, a drummer, photographer, and producer, born in Rome, who has been playing drums since the age of 17 with Bruce Dickinson, frontman of the popular band Iron Maiden, with whom he and several other artists held a concert in besieged Sarajevo in December 1994.

He documented his journey to Sarajevo with a photographic essay that later helped create the film “Scream for me Sarajevo” and a much more pleasant return to Sarajevo where he made many friends. Today he lives in Los Angeles, works in photography, and his unconventional approach and creativity in production led to a Grammy nomination for collaboration with soul singer Alice Smith. He has worked with names such as Lily Allen, Imani Coppola, Bruce Dickinson, Avril Lavigne and many others.
