Testimony of a Bosnian worker: When the red light turns on, we leave the premises, it means an inspection is coming

An entrepreneur from Visoko has devised a way to keep workers unregistered and still avoid inspection penalties for it, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

The owner of a local wood processing company in Visoko has installed two types of light bulbs in his company's premises. When yellow “ordinary” light bulbs are on, it means the air is clean and workers can work undisturbed, but when red light bulbs are also turned on, it means the inspection is within the company's premises, and all unregistered workers must move towards the back door and go to a neighboring cafe, and stay there until someone comes for them.

The red or yellow light bulbs are turned on by the gatekeeper, whom the inspection must first approach in order to enter the company at all.

One of the former workers of this company told Patria that this is a very functional and safe system, because the inspection cannot conclude anything based on the color of the light bulb. He saves the company millions in taxes annually, but, unfortunately, it is at the expense of the state and the workers, writes NAP.
