Swedish Coach Had Support in Skenderija: Vedran, King, Welcome Home

Vedran Bosnić, the 40-year-old Sarajevan coach of the Swedish national basketball team, experienced a defeat with his team against the Dragons last night in the "Mirza Delibašić" hall in a dramatic and tense finish, with the final score being 74:71, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

On the other hand, although on the opposing side, Bosnić had support from the stands where a banner reading "Vedran, King, Welcome Home" was displayed.

The Swedish coach posted this photo on Twitter and wrote:

- Thank you Bosnia and Herzegovina, thank you Sarajevo, thank you to everyone who sent a message before and after the game.

Bosnić added that he is proud of his team and will not give up. The return match against Sweden awaits Damir Mulaomerović's protégés on September 14, and before that, a return match against Russia on September 10 in Tuzla.

Who is Vedran Bosnić

He started his playing career at Sloboda, and also played for the BiH national team. Later, he played for several European clubs, including the Lithuanian giant Lietuvos Rytas.

He ended his playing career at the Swedish club Södertälje Kings, where he began his coaching career, assisting coach Torbjörn Gherke, from whom he took over the position.

This year, Bosnić won the league with the Swedish club for the fourth time in a row, which attracted the attention of numerous world media. He was named Coach of the Year twice in a row.

He became the coach of the Swedish national team in 2014.
