CEREMONY Flag of BiH raised on Hum hill with anthem playing

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The flag of BiH was raised on Hum hill with the BiH anthem playing, in the presence of BiH Presidency members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović, BiH Minister of Defence Sifet Podžić, Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces Senad Mašović, Mayor of Sarajevo Benjamina Karić, deputy mayors, mayors of municipalities, and representatives of other levels of government. 

This ceremony marked the beginning of the celebration of BiH Statehood Day.

The Honour Guard of the BiH Armed Forces is also present on Hum. 

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, congratulated on BiH Statehood Day.

"The flag of BiH is flying proudly and defiantly here. Today we celebrate anti-fascism, our statehood, everything our ancestors fought for. Although we are in a difficult time, today gives us new strength, awakens patriotism, love for our fellow citizens, our homeland which we love and which is in our hearts. We live anti-fascism and move towards a better future, we inherit and cherish all the ideas of ZAVNOBiH today," said Karić.

Delegations will visit cemeteries and memorials from Hum hill, lay flowers, and pay tribute to all victims.
