
(Patria) - Ilidža Municipality Day was marked with a ceremonial session of the Ilidža Municipal Council, where Ilidža Municipality awards for 2025 were presented.
The event, marking the 29th anniversary of the reintegration of Ilidža Municipality, held at Hotel Hills, gathered a large number of guests from the public, political, and cultural life of Ilidža and Sarajevo Canton.
In an engaging address, the President of the Ilidža Municipal Council, Tarik Stambolić, spoke about Ilidža as a municipality with the most positive changes, a place of rapid growth, new ideas, and great opportunities.
- In Ilidža, the place where Bosnia is born, in recent years we have strived to be one of the best parts of Bosnia. Today, I can proudly say that Ilidža Municipality is the healthiest tissue of our homeland. It is growing, developing, and progressing in the fields of economy, science, culture, sports... - said Stambolić.
As every year at the Ceremonial Session of the Municipal Council of Ilidža on the occasion of the Municipality Day, acknowledgments, plaques, and charters were awarded.
The individual Golden Plaque was awarded to Amar Gegić, for outstanding achievements in the field of sports. For exceptional dedication, humanity, and contribution to providing medical assistance to the citizens of Ilidža Municipality, the Golden Plaque was awarded (posthumously) to Mustafa Tabaković.
The collective Golden Plaque went to the Association of Fighters of Minor Volunteers of the Defensive-Liberation War '92-'95 of Ilidža Municipality, for promoting Ilidža Municipality and preserving history during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For achieved results in work and contribution to the international promotion of Ilidža Municipality in the field of tourism, the Golden Collective Plaque was awarded to Mrkulić Company, and for exceptional results in sports and a significant contribution to the development of sports in Ilidža Municipality, the Golden Plaque was awarded to the Kickboxing Academy Ilidža.
The Charter for Lifetime Achievement was awarded (posthumously) to Derviš Sušić for his exceptional contribution to literature, immortalized in numerous literary works.
Acknowledgments of Ilidža Municipality were received by the Association RA Ilidža - Amer Demirović, Mithat Karahasan, Ilidža Fire Department, Mensur Salkić, Prof. Dr. Salmedin Mesihović, Osman Sinanović, Tarik Šetić, Enes Hajdarević, and Prof. Dr. Edin Radušić, while the Defense Plaque was awarded to Ćazim Mučić, and posthumously to Hasib Begović. Within the ceremonial session, an exhibition titled "Ilidža during Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina: A Project for the Future" was presented, and its authors, Prof. Edin Radušić, Prof. Amila Kasumović, and archivists Sandra Biletić and Ali Drkić, through a professional and archival approach, presented important facts shaping the present and future of Ilidža.
