
(Patria) - A ceremonial promotion of the 10th class of officers and the 12th class of non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held today at the "Rajlovac" barracks in Sarajevo.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defence for Policy and Plans, Slaven Galić, the Chief of the Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, the Commander of the Centre for Professional Development, Colonel Šaban Kadrić, members of EUFOR and the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, and other members of the Ministry of Defence of BiH, the general, officer and NCO corps of the AF BiH.
After the anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina was played, Kadrić addressed the promoted officers and NCOs with introductory remarks, welcoming the trainees on behalf of the Centre and in his personal name on the completion of basic officer and NCO training.
- Today's ceremony is an indicator of the successfully completed mission of the Centre for Professional Development. Our Centre is faced with a constant increase in the number of trainings and trainees, for which it is necessary to increase capacities and improve conditions for the trainings held at our centre.
This 10th class of officer training and 12th class of NCO training was one of the best classes, demonstrating professionalism, responsibility and seriousness. I congratulate you on the successful completion of the training and be the pride of the AF BiH - said Kadrić.
In his address to those present, Senad Mašović welcomed the attendees and thanked them for coming in large numbers.
- Today's ceremony of taking the oath and awarding diplomas is significant not only for the defence system, but also for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I want to thank your families who have put in a lot of effort and raised you to be of strong spirit, capable of dealing with all challenges, problems and adversities.
Today's diploma award is the crown of a painstaking work and dedication, but it is also an imperative to approach your duties conscientiously and responsibly - Mašović emphasised.
Finally, the Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH addressed those present, stating that he is proud to attend the promotion of the 10th class of officers and the 12th class of NCOs.
He pointed out that they should be proud of themselves for having, by successfully completing basic officer and NCO training, met the conditions for performing one of the most honourable professions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The best trainee of the 10th class of basic officer training is Second Lieutenant Dževad Orman, and the best trainee of the 12th class of basic NCO training is Sergeant Radovan Mičić.
Basic officer training was successfully completed by 66 candidates, and basic NCO training by 76 candidates.
