The Maglaj Public Library celebrated its 57th anniversary yesterday with numerous guests and a special program, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
This was an opportunity for guests to see how the Public Library was renovated after last year's floods, and many are of the opinion that it is even more beautiful than before.
A cake was prepared for this occasion, and guests had the opportunity to watch a film summarizing everything the library went through in the past period.
We recall that during the floods, 28,000 books out of the 40,000 it had were destroyed. The library opened its doors to users on August 20, 2014. Through numerous campaigns by citizens, institutions, schools, and fairs, more than 30,000 books were collected, so now they have a fund of 50,000 books.
As the director of the Maglaj Public Library, Nina Salkić-Bunjevac, previously told Patria, she is happy when she sees the result, when people come and say it looks nice.
- Citizens, the media, and guests who visited the library helped us a lot - said Salkić-Bunjevac, adding that they also present their activities on the local television station Maglaj.
