Old Town Graduates and Pride of the Generation Celebrated

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A cheerful procession of Old Town graduates, dressed in blue shirts with Old Town sashes, with appropriate badges and red gerberas, paraded today from Sebilj to Gazi Husrev-beg Library. Out of 260 graduates, 85 were declared the pride of the generation, and along with their diplomas, they received annual memberships in this prestigious institution.

With greetings to the graduates and wishes for successful continuation of their education, Jusuf Pušina, the Chairman of the Old Town Municipal Council, told them that they confirm the thesis he often uses, which is that BiH is the most beautiful country in the world and has the best people in the world, and the graduates represent its future.

- Friendship and love open all doors in this world, and you are the symbol of knowledge and intellect of BiH, so thank you to your parents and teaching staff for nurturing such a generation. Continue on the right path, build and promote the values of BiH, and be proud that you are from the Old Town, the oldest and most beautiful municipality in the city - Pušina told the graduates.

At its last session last year, the Old Town Municipal Council adopted the Proposal of the Decision on rewarding students of the final grades of primary schools and established the recognition "Pride of the Schools of the Old Town Municipality" for students of the final grades of primary schools. The initiator of this idea was Irfan Čengić, Deputy Chairman of the Municipal Council, who also addressed the graduates today.

- Congratulations to everyone on completing primary school, and special greetings and congratulations to these 85 students who are the pride of the Old Town, but also carry the responsibility of good behavior in the future. I want to single out and greet Primary School "Vrhbosna" because I also attended and graduated from that school. You will soon become high school students, and I want you to know that grades are not as important as being good and responsible people. In about 10 years, some of you will take our places and have successful careers - said Čengić.

One of the graduates who participated in today's parade is Islam Krivčić from Primary School "Mula Mustafa Bašeskija".

- Nine years of schooling have been filled with many ups and downs, and regarding the future, I decided to follow my heart and enroll in the Secondary Veterinary School. The idea of all the graduates from the Old Town gathering like this is truly very nice. I will miss my school friends, but I am also looking forward to new friendships and challenges in school - said Islam.

Fatih Žgalj from Primary School "Hamdija Kreševljaković", unlike him, has not yet decided which school he will enroll in.

- I am sad that we are parting, but happy that new challenges, new victories, new friendships await us. The gathering is really excellently organized, and we are having a great time. I haven't decided which high school I will enroll in yet, but most likely one of the Sarajevo gymnasiums.

Kerim Tabak, a graduate from Primary School "Mula Mustafa Bašeskija", will miss his friends the most.

- When we part today, I will miss my friends the most. I finished the last grade with very good grades, but I had excellent grades earlier. I intend to enroll in the Secondary Medical School, specializing in physiotherapy or medical laboratory technician, - Kerim is determined.
