Solemn parade and program in Konjic on the occasion of Independence Day!

(Patria) - As part of the activities with which the City of Konjic solemnly marks BiH Independence Day and the Day of Liberation of Konjic from Fascism, a solemn parade through the city streets and a program were held in Konjic, during which students in the cinema hall of the Konjic National University showed through songs, dances, games and recitations how much they know about important events from the history of Konjic and Bosnia and Herzegovina and how much they love their city and their homeland.

At the beginning of the solemn program, the Mayor of the City of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, addressed the attendees, congratulating them on Bosnia and Herzegovina's Independence Day and the Day of Liberation of Konjic from Fascism.

"These significant dates and events from our history should be an important lesson and inspiration for all coming generations, especially for young people who will one day be the bearers of development for Konjic and Bosnia and Herzegovina. By marking BiH Independence Day and the Day of Liberation of Konjic from Fascism, it is our duty to remember all those who, with their work, knowledge, courage and sacrifice, contributed to us living in freedom and peace today. It is our duty to remember and learn about the people who believed in the values that you are also learning today, which are primarily knowledge, solidarity, respect, togetherness and love for the homeland," said Mayor Ćatić, telling the youth:

"Be proud of our past, learn, dream and create new values, bravely stepping into the future. We are here to support you in being as successful, satisfied and happy as possible on that path. Appreciate our differences, strive for knowledge and believe in good. In this way, you will show how much you respect yourself and others, and how much you love your city and your homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Mayor Ćatić.

On the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Independence Day and the Day of Liberation of Konjic from Fascism, a visit to the memorial monuments and martyrs' cemeteries in the city and local communities will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
