Ahead of the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the president of the Nigerian Football Federation Alhaji Aminu Maigari encouraged the Super Eagles, stating they have the full support of the federation and the state, writes the Patria News Agency. Maigari told the players to be assured that the federation stands firmly behind them.
Maigari said he came to assure them that most Nigerians still believe in them in the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to words of encouragement, Maigari also brought the players documentation for their land properties, which they received after winning the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, but which had never been handed over to them.
Incidentally, these awards were promised to them by the President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan after their victory in the last Africa Cup of Nations.
- We have heard a lot of criticism against you. Those who said you were the best in the world criticized you after the match with Iran. But, I am sure that after Saturday, they will celebrate you again – said Maigari.
