All Set for Grabar-Kitarović's Inauguration: BiH Presidency Members on the President's Right Side

Everything is ready for the inauguration of the new Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. The president-elect will become the first female Croatian president after she takes the oath at the ceremony on St. Mark's Square and receives the presidential sash from the President of the Constitutional Court, Jasna Omejec, and pays tribute to the national flag.

The ceremony begins after the firing of the Grič cannon at noon and the ringing of the bells of St. Mark's Church, in front of which the inauguration is held. The president will arrive at the Square by the funicular and pass through Ćirilometodska Street through a corridor of citizens and historical units, and the inauguration will also be attended by the Honorary and Protection Battalion, whose members will be in uniforms of all branches of the Armed Forces.

For today, the police have announced special traffic regulations in the area of the Upper Town district and the zone of the Hotel Westin Zagreb.

In addition to a ban on stopping and parking for all vehicles and a traffic ban for all vehicles except those with accreditation, the manner of arrival for citizens and residents in the Upper Town area has also been specifically regulated.

The arrival of citizens who wish to attend the inauguration, as well as residents, in the Upper Town area from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be possible only on foot via Strossmayer Promenade or Radić Street over Zakmardi Steps or through the Stone Gate, and due to limited space, the police recommend that citizens arrive no later than 10:30 a.m.

On the right side of the first row will be the presidents of Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, and the three members of the BiH Presidency. While the right side is reserved for foreign dignitaries, the left side is intended for guests from Croatia: former presidents, prime ministers, a delegation of the Government with Prime Minister Zoran Milanović, a delegation of the Croatian Parliament with Parliament Speaker Josip Leko, and various other dignitaries from the country's political, cultural, and religious life.
