All Set for a Fighting Spectacle: Everything Will Be Flashing in Sarajevo on Friday

A press conference was held today for the Final Fight Championship, and about fifty journalists from various Bosnian-Herzegovinian media came to see and hear the main stars of Sarajevo's biggest fighting spectacle, with the most interest, as expected, in Dževad Poturak and Tomislav Spahović.

Besides this duo, the conference was also attended by the head of FFC, Mr. Orsat Zovko, Poturak's opponent - Spaniard Frank Munoz, and another Sarajevo "rising star" - Elmir Mehić.

Besides Poturak and his important bout, most of the talk was about the cancellation of Aleksandar Rakić's appearance, an Austrian fighter of Serbian descent who canceled his match against Spahović due to alleged nationalist threats to his family. Zovko did not believe that story and believes it is a matter of fear and other interests...

"Match cancellations happen in this sport. In the UFC, Bellator, and other top organizations. Fighters spar, get injured, and it always happens at the last moment. However, I have been in this sport for a very long time and I have never heard such reasons," said Zovko.

The appearance at FFC in Skenderija will be the third for Dževad Poturak under the FFC brand. So far, he has had mixed success, but the impression is that he took the match against Munoz extremely seriously. He lost 7.5 kilograms and looks like a young man.

"In the past period, we had attempts to hold FFC in Sarajevo. In the first attempt, I got injured, then we had another idle period, but now we have done the right thing. I hope to defeat Frank Munoz on Friday and win a victory for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it would also be significant for me because it would be my third consecutive win," Poturak told those present, adding:

"My wife reduced my portions and didn't let me eat as much, so I managed to lose 7.5 kg. But I worked seriously and prepared seriously. Last time I received real criticism from Orsat, and this time I didn't want to show up in bad shape. I promise a war from the first second. We will start fiercely and hard, and we'll see who it works for. It will be difficult. For him, not for me," added Dževad.

Although the duo exchanged quite threatening messages in the past few days, Poturak and Munoz were very friendly in front of the journalists, but both promised victory and a knockout. The Spaniard was not particularly talkative, thanked FFC for the opportunity, said "this is his time," and that Poturak is a legend, but also that he is getting older...

"I am very glad to be in Sarajevo. Two years ago, I fought in Zagreb, at the K-1 Final. Now it's time to win. Poturak is a legend and a great fighter, but my time has come. He is strong, but it's time for a new generation. That's why I'm here. I promise you a real spectacle on Friday because I came to fight and entertain the audience," Munoz stated.

Along with Poturak, the most interest from the media was for one of the best Bosnian-Herzegovinian MMA fighters, Tomislav "The Beast" Spahović. After two opponent changes, he got a third name - Bulgarian Kamen Georgiev.

The situation is not pleasant, but the Sarajevo native claims he has never been more prepared in his career and that he is not burdened by things outside the ring. He will speak in the ring...

"Two opponents have already canceled fights against me, but fortunately, Kamen Georgiev from Bulgaria accepted the fight at the last moment, and that is very important to me because I didn't want to be left without a match. I am ready for Friday. Kamen has 30 fights behind him. Experience is definitely on his side, but I am a young lion going on the offensive and I will give my all to win," said Spahović.
